Thoughts about Looking Past Dementia
Dementia and my family have history. So I wasn't sure I wanted to read this book, relive my past and maybe look at my future. Boy, am I glad I did!
This is not a medical jargon, sticky brain, do a crossword, eat blueberries book. This is a book about how to continue to have a relationship with someone who has dementia by looking at it from the viewpoint of the family member/friend as well as from the viewpoint of the person living with dementia. I wish I had this book 30 years ago! I can't think of a person who wouldn't benefit from reading this book. We can be both caregiver and friend/daughter/partner to someone who is living with dementia.It's short (187 pages) but it gives you a lot to think about and some ideas for changing your behavior to improve your relationship.
