The weather reports are promises single digit temps in my backyard so I'm huddled under my favorite afghan wearing fuzzy socks and sipping hot chocolate. Seems like the perfect weekend to look over my many photos mostly taken during warmer days. I'm partial to butterfly shots which take a lot of patience.
What am I going to do with my photos? The National Wildlife Federation's 55th annual photography contest is open for entries until March 22, 2026. So start scrolling through all the photos you've snapped over the years. Although there is an entry fee of $20, you can enter up to 10 photos and there are 18 monetary prizes. You can also be awarded an Honorable Mention or a People's Choice Award. Select winner and honorable mention photographs will published in the print and/or online Winter 2027 issue of National Wildlife.

Just for the Kids
Know a nature photographer younger than 13? They have their own special opportunity. The
National Wildlife Federation also publishes nature magazines for kids (I loved Ranger Rick as a kid!) and has a monthly contest for under 13 photographers to be in their online gallery as well as a chance to be published in the print magazine. Check out the details HERE
