X is for X Marks the Spot

X marks the spot your new plant will call home. You never know how important X is until a plant that was thriving in one spot gets moved to another spot and withers away. Or vice versa. I've had people give me almost dead plants and get so mad when they blossom in my garden. Not because I'm a great gardener, just because I picked the best spot.

Lots of things can determine which X spot is the best:

  • Sun/shade

  • Type of soil (rocky, clay, sandy, acidic)

  • Exposure to weather

  • Pests

  • Companion plants

If a plant isn't doing well, you can try planting it in a different spot to see if it likes the new environment better. Good luck finding the best X marks the spot.
